In order for a business’ managers to know how to adequately operate and keep the business growing, they must analyze data such as the income earned and expenses paid for a particular period like a month or year. That information is then used to create a budget which helps the business know what to expect and how to save on future costs as well as what they need to earn to make a profit. This process is called planning and budgeting.
